Dr Ramesh Sabhlok obtained his BDS
(Hons.1976) and MDS (Orthodontics,1978) from the Faculty of Dental Sciences,
King George¡¯s Medical College, University of Lucknow, India; He is a
Diplomate of the Royal College of Surgeons; Edinburgh (M.ORTH RCSEd)
and also a Diplomate of the Indian Board of Orthodontics. He was awarded
WHO fellowship in 1988 to USA for Advanced Training in Orthodontics
at the School of Dentistry, University of Louisiana, New Orleans, School
of Dentistry University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and College of Dentistry,
University of Illinois, Chicago.
He held senior teaching and clinical positions in India, USA, Libya
and United Arab Emirates for last three decades. Presently Dr. Sabhlok
is Consultant Orthodontist with the Department of Health & Medical
Services, Government of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Sabhlok has special interest in efficient and effective utilization
of Contemporary Orthodontic appliances, Growth modulation with Functional
appliances and Non-Extraction treatment. He has worked exclusively with
the Pre-adjusted appliance system for the last 29 years and now for
the last 1i years is actively involved with MBT Philosophy.
Dr. Sabhlok was International Consultant Editor of the Journal of Indian
Orthodontic Society and is presently on the consultative board of the
Journal. He has presented several seminars and Continuing Educational
Courses in various International, National Orthodontic and Dental conferences
and has many publications to his credit and is on the advisory board
of many teaching Institutions. Recently he has authored a book on ¡°MBT
treatment Mechanics¡±
He is an active member of many International Orthodontic and Dental
Organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists,
Fellow of the American College Of Dentists, Fellow of the International
College of Dentists and Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International.
He was responsible for establishing Emirates Orthodontic Society and
is currently Management Committee member of the Emirates Society of
Orthodontists.
Recently he was invited as a keynote speaker at the following conferences:
- 108th Annual Session of the American Association of Orthodontists
held at Denver, Colorado, USA, May16-20, 2008.
- Conducted a three days Hands-on course on ¡°MBT Treatment Mechanics¡±
organized by Pakistan Association of Orthodontists and 3M Unitek at
Karachi, Pakistan, April17-19, 2008.
- Conducted a three days Hands-on course on ¡°MBT Treatment Mechanics¡±
organized by Pakistan Association of Orthodontists and 3M Unitek at
Lahore, Pakistan, December17-19, 2007.
- Conducted a Hands-on course on ¡°Micro-implant Anchorage in Orthodontics¡±
during the 4th Central Zone & 27th IDA M.P. state Dental Conference
held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India on November 15-18, 2007.
- Presented a scientific paper titled ¡°New Horizons in Orthodontics
and Dento-facial Orthopaedics-Clinical Management of the Removable
and Fixed Functional Appliances¡± during the 4th Central Zone &
27th IDA M.P. state Dental Conference held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh,
India on November 15-18,2007.
